    Herbal Extract

    For many centuries, herbs are widely cultivated and harvested for some purposes. One of the great purposes is for the herbs' medicinal properties. As such, a variety of herbs are now prepared and formulated in many laboratories to provide some means of treating and preventing ailments. From the laboratory actions and testing, the concept of herbal extract emerged.

    Speaking of the herbal extract, it is interesting to know that the most commonly known form of herbal extract is the liquid herbal extract. The liquid herbal extract is a concentrated liquid solution that is developed by means of extracting the herbal plant alkaloids from the herbal mash of a certain specified formula. The extracted liquid then acts to preserve the different herbal compounds contained in an herbal liquid which in turn can be applied internally for great effectiveness while it flows into the bloodstream faster. Most of the liquid herbal extracts are made with grain alcohol or glycerin contents.

    In the process of formulating the herbal extract, it is commonly noted that the extract is prepared from any mixture of herbal bark, leaves, seeds, roots, flowers, and others. These parts are then blended together in containers in which the extracting liquids like the alcohol, vinegar, or glycerin are greatly applied as a form of solvent for removing the vital nutrients from the plant and its parts. The extraction itself usually takes place for about over a period of at least two weeks coupled with the every day shaking of the steeping formulation.

    In addition, once there is a finished herbal extract, it will then be readied by squeezing the removed solution by means of a press under a strong pressure, therefore separating the liquid herbal extract from the herbal pulp. In order to create a powerful liquid herbal extract, many of the manufacturers usually prepared anywhere from 28 to 42 ounces of dried herb coupled with the exact amount of aqueous solvent for preparation of a gallon liquid. As such, the herbal alkaloids are then digested into the bloodstream starting in the mouth.
