    Holiday Cookie Recipes

    Who doesn’t love to eat cookies? Hmm…your probably has a toothache. Well, cookies are also great foods to prepare for your holiday gathering. You can even bake them as gifts to your friends. All you need to do is simply to pack them for presents. Whatever your purpose is, cookies are really worth preparing.

    To start your cookie holiday, here are some of the cookie recipes you might be interested in. Consider the following and try preparing them to complete that sweet holiday of your life.

    Lemonade Drops Cookie

    Ingredients:

    1 cup of softened butter
    1 cup of granulated sugar
    2 eggs
    2 ¾ cups of sifted flour
    ¾ teaspoon of soda
    1 6-ounce can of frozen lemonade concentrate (thawed)
    ½ cup of chopped pecans (optional)
    Additional sugar for topping

    Procedures:

    Cream the butter or margarine and sugar together until fluffy and light. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat until the mixture turned smooth and pale in color. Combine the flour and soda and sift together. Add to the butter mixture alternately with ½ cup of lemonade. Fold in nuts. Drop by tablespoons onto un-greased baking sheets, about 1 ½ inches apart. Bake the mixture in a preheated oven with a temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 12 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are brown. Remove to wire cooling racks and lightly brush warm cookies with the remaining lemonade concentrate. Sprinkle lightly with sugar, and serve.

    Orange Spritz Cookies

    Ingredients:

    1 cup of softened butter
    1 cup of granulated sugar
    1 egg yolk
    2 tablespoons of orange juice
    2 ¼ cups of all-purpose flour
    1 tablespoon of orange peel (finely chopped)
    ¼ cup of finelt chopped pecans (optional)

    Procedures:

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cream the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Beat the egg yolk together with the orange juice. Mix in flour, orange peel, and pecans. Mix until combined. Remember that the dough must be soft but not sticky. Then, place the dough into the cookie press. Use shapes whatever you desired. Press the cookies into the un-greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are lightly brown. Cool for 2 minutes and remove from the cookie sheet.

Stir in vanilla and combine flour, salt, and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon. Stir into the creamed mixture to form stiff dough. Shape the dough into 1 inch balls. Blend together 1 cup of confectioner’s sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Then, roll the balls in cinnamon mixture. Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or until nicely brown. Cook the cookie on wire racks, and serve when cool.

    Yogurt Chocolate Chip Cookies

    Ingredients:

    ½ cup of packed brown sugar
    ½ cup of white sugar
    ¼ cup of margarine or butter
    ¼ cup of shortening
    ½ cup of plain nonfat yogurt
    2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
    1 ¾ cups of all-purpose flour
    ½ teaspoon of baking soda
    ½ teaspoon of salt
    2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips

    Directions:

    Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease the cookie sheets. Cream the brown sugar, white sugar, margarine and shortening together in a medium bowl until light and fluffy. Stir in yogurt and vanilla. Mix the flour, baking soda and salt. Stir into the creamed mixture until incorporated, then blend in the chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart into the prepared cookies sheets. If done, bake in for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges start to brown. Cool for a minute on the sheets and transfer on the wire racks to cool completely.
